neon over nude

I've officially become obsessed with fluorescent yellow, especially with grey. Actually, I think its the combo more than the yellow itself. It all began few months ago with the purchase of Essie's nail color in Funky Limelight. Since then I've acquired the two above pieces from none other than American Apparel (who else would make a denim pencil skirt in fluoroscent yellow?!) Now I have a feeling that these are seriously needed... and that will be all.

1st : american apparel drawstring tank dress and ruched tube bra
2nd : american apparel grey raglan, bull denim pencil skirt, and california select fontana sunglasses; target necklace
3rd: essie polish in funky limelight, michael kors watch, f21 ring & bracelet, target necklace

87 degress & rising

charlotte ronson for jcpenny knit vest, express sheer t, levi's cutoffs, vintage glasses, wrist scarf & belt, urban outfitters leather hair band worn as necklace, nine west sandals, liz claiborne canvas bag.

Ninety degree days require minimal clothing or thought about clothing. Tying the scarf around my wrist took longer than putting this whole "outfit" together.

getting closer

12 by 12 cropped studded tweed blazer and F21 necklaces
i mentioned a few posts back, my desire for Chanel inspired pieces in my work wardrobe. well i acquired piece #2 when ran across this 12 by 12 jacket on eBay a week ago ($5 + shipping). the details (short sleeves, mesh covered studded trim, excellent fabric) are beyond, especially the pearl substitute of pyramid studs. SCORE!!!!
speaking of Ebay, i've been listing quite a bit lately. right now, I've got two AA Bull denim skirts listed and a new Nars blush compact, so check em out!! have a great day. so glad the weekend's almost upon me.

lemonade

american apparel low back fringe mini "dress" (cut a bit for better shirt length), levi's 501 cutoffs, cynthia vincent for target wedges, forever21 rings & necklace, vintage ray-bans
It seems as though north ms has decided to forgo the spring season entirely and settle into early summer with the near mid-80 degree temperatures. Since denim cut-offs and fresh squeezed lemonade, from the flea-market, are the outcomes of such weather...you won't hear me complaining.

eyes wide shut

vintage dress & shoes
in reference to my face (s)...
this vint dress is possibly the only one i've left in original form, as in not altering length. But now that I think about it, it would look smashing shorter :)
i forgot to mention the outfit from the last post (thanks soo much for you all's compliments on it). the sweater with ruffle-y chiffon sleeves is from F21's 12 by 12, skirt from target (last yr), and same shoes from today.

lately, i've really been into...

wearing pearls and skirts to work

this eugenia kim for target fedora

overpriced make-up
(never thought I'd drop $40 on primer, but it really is worth it i've discovered)

online shopping
(nothing like seeing self purchased presents on your porch after a long day)

by the way, neither pair of those alice + olivia for payless shoes did it for me in person... returning them to a store tomorrow.
*this post seems so materialistic. i promise im not just into clothes & make-up! i'm just keeping with the "personal style" aspect for the blog...anyway what have you guys been into lately (materialistically or non)?

shoe shopping

Shoes by Alice + Olivia for Payless & Cynthia Vincent for Target

Three recent shoe purchases I am quite excited about. Currently awaiting the Payless purchases. I honestly think this is the first time I've bought shoes from Payless, so I'm a bit worried not having tried them on.
The Cynthia Vincent for Target pair were pretty much decided for me from the number of features they made in every maintream magazine I've picked up over the past month. Obviously, I had to see what all the hype was about. Turns out they are just the pop of color I needed for white t's and jeans days and the velcro straps are so convenient. Today I paired them with a slouchy white tank, fluorescent yellow tube bra, and jeans...they totally made the look!
